Birth Classes

This weekend we started our two weekend series of birth classes. I was not optimistic that the classes would be useful; I thought they would be full of lame breathing exercises that only advocated natural labor (despite all my 5th grade DARE training I will not be saying no to drugs) and techniques that would never work. To my surprise the class was actually pretty useful. Instead of hee-hees and who-whos the class taught a lot of relaxation and massage, plus filled us in on how labor works. While it was a little scary (they showed some videos, one that made me squirm) I feel a tiny bit better about the process.

Next weekend, the empathy belly........I'll be sure to post pictures :)

Let's Play Catch Up......Again

So I seem to be pretty bad at keeping up on the blog! I always seem to be a few weeks behind, so let me get you caught up on the happenings over the last couple weeks. Last weekend my sister and mom threw me an awesome baby shower. Everything was so great! The decorations were super cute, King of the Jungle theme, and we all had a great time eating, playing games and ogling over all the cute baby gifts. It was great to spend an afternoon with friends and family. It seems crazy to me that he is almost here, and I can't wait to put all the fun gifts we got to use.

Kaelen and I right before we dominated at the baby word search. With her help we got every answer right!

Here is a picture of the super AWESOME diaper cake that Sarah handmade! I still can't bring myself to take it apart.

The weekend before the baby shower Trey and I celebrated our 2 year wedding aniversary. The last two years we were able to celebrate in Mexico, but this year that was not really my idea of a fun vacation (I don't think an 8 month pregnant lady in bikini would exactly be the best view, not that you could pay me to wear a swimsuit right now anyways......) Instead we spent a fun and relaxing weekend in Cannon Beach. The weather was fantastic and it was nice to spend some quality time together. We were able to explore some of the local state parks and beaches, eat lots of yummy food, and play a few games.
