The Walter's Reception

Our friends Ashley and Geoffrey tied the knot this last May on the beach in Hawaii. They had a fabulous reception in July for us all to celebrate with them. The reception was out in Washougal and guests were encouraged to camp out for the night. This was the first night that Trey and both left Maddox for the evening (he had a slumber party with Grandma Barb) and while it was hard we had a great time celebrating with our friends. The night was filled with food, dancing, beer pong and the Ring of Fire of course.

Congratulations to the happy couple!!

The boys, it was so nice to get a picture of all of them together!

Cannon Beach

The second weekend of July we were lucky enough to be able to take a trip to Cannon Beach with our friends. It was awesome to take some time out to relax and spend time together. Maddox had a great time amusing everyone with his antics (he is such a ham) and he loved taking in the sights down at the beach. The weather was incredible and the tides worked out so we were able to actually explore Haystack rock, which in all our trips to Cannon Beach, we had never actually done before.

Relaxing on the deck with drinks and a beautiful view

4th of July

We had two nights of fun this year for the 4th of July. On the 3rd our neighborhood threw a giant block party full of food, music and tons of fireworks. Maddox stayed awake for most of the party, but slept right through all the fireworks! On the 4th we ventured out to the Buhman Farm for their annual 4th of July BBQ. Maddox had a great time catching up with his little friend Jameson, sitting around the campfire and taking in the fireworks show (he managed to stay awake for these ones). We had a great holiday celebrating with our friends and family.

Road Trip!

I am a little behind in our blog posts (as usual) so bear with me as I catch up. The last weekend of June Trey, cousin Kaelen, Maddox and I traveled to Sandpoint, ID to attend my friend Lisa's wedding. The car ride was long (7 hours) but the kids did great, and Max loved having Kaelen as his backseat buddy. Unfortunately, we only had a short weekend to spend in the area. We were able to explore the shops downtown Sandpoint and nearby Schwitzer Resort. Trey and Kaelen rode the chair lift to the top of Schwitzer mountain and enjoyed some pretty incredible views. We will have to make a trip back someday, there was so much to see!

The wedding was on Lake Pend Orielle and was so beautiful! We were so glad to be able to make the trip and share Lisa and Harrison's special day!

Apparently neither Jesse and Maddox enjoyed this bonding moment.

First Hike of the Season

Thanks to Uncle Anthony we have an awesome hiking backpack for Maddox and plan on having a ton of adventures this summer. Since the weather was nice this last weekend we decided to make our first hike of the season at Multnomah Falls. We only hiked about 2.5 miles, but the first 1 1/4 were straight uphill! I know I was sweating, so I can't imagine how Trey felt with our chubby little sweetheart strapped to his back. Maddox seemed pretty amused taking in the scenery and the people we met along the trail. He is sure the little observer these days! Below are a few pics from our adventure!

2010 Tulip Festival

The Klugs recently headed out to the 2010 Tulip Festival at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn, OR. The day started out with beautiful weather, then in true Pacific NW fashion a rain storm rolled on through. After a brief rain delay standing under a large tent, we were able to head back out to the fields and check out all the awesome tulips. We were a little unprepared, because also in true Pacific NW fashion since there was a ray of sunshine I had decided to wear flip flops, which didn't fair well in all the mud. By the time we were finished cruising through the fields the stroller wheels were caked with mud and each of my shoes weighed about ten pounds.

The festival was full of fun things. In addition to all the flower fields there was a gift shop, a vendor fair, a kids carnival, train rides, a plant sale and a food court.

The festival was amazing and we can't wait to go back next year!

4 months already?

I can't believe our little guy is 4 months old already! Seems like just yesterday we were heading to the hospital to meet him for the first time. Yesterday we had Maddox's 4 month check-up. He weighs 15lbs 15.8oz and is 25.5in long; he is 75th percentile for both height and weight. The doctor said he looks great and is developing wonderfully.

Maddox recently started rollling from his belly to his back (he never wants to do it for the camera, but I am determined to catch it on video.) He loves to play with his toys and watch everything that is happening around him. He is our little observer. It is so awesome to see him learn new things and I think I am more excited than he is!

What a little ham!

Meeting little Jameson for the first time. Could there be a budding romance in the future?

Maddox Montana? Rocking his little aunt's Build-A-Bear Hannah Montana wig. He will be pissed about this picture sometime in the future.
